Charges pending
in fraud case
BARNESVILLE - Charges are pending against a Barnesville woman and a 17-year-old girl after an access device fraud incident in Ryan Township Nov. 15 or 16.
State police at Frackville said Alyssa L. Shellhammer and the juvenile will be charged for removing a Master Card from the bedroom of a 57-year-old Barnesville man and using it at numerous locations without his permission.
Wanted man
found during stop
PINE GROVE - A traffic stop conducted Pine Grove police about 11:10 a.m. Monday in the area of Whispering Pines resulted in a wanted person being taken into custody.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle driven by Michael S. Zombro, 47, for speeding and found that he was driving with a suspended license.
It was also learned that Zombro was wanted on a bench warrant in Lebanon County for failing to appear on charges in connection with an aggravated assault.
He was turned over to the sheriff's department and transported back to Lebanon County, police said, adding that a traffic citation was filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Carol A. Pankake, Tremont.
Police conduct
checkpoints
State police at Frackville reported conducting three regulatory checkpoints at local high schools for the purpose of educating younger drivers on seat belt and occupancy laws.
On Monday, police said a joint checkpoint was held with the Mahanoy City Police Department at Mahanoy Area High School.
On Tuesday, a checkpoint was conducted with Rush Township police at Marian High School.
On Thursday, police said they conducted a checkpoint with Tamaqua police at Tamaqua Area High School.
In addition, police conducted a child safety seat check Saturday at Washington Fire Company, 1209 Centre St., Ashland.
