ORWIGSBURG - Four new members took their places on the Blue Mountain school board Thursday

Herman Fligge, Dean Gherghel, Timothy Grube and Anne Usuka were all sworn in by Heather Gosch, who had been voted board president, for four-year positions after being elected during the Nov. 5 General Election.

In addition to Gosch as president, Scott Reichert will serve as vice president and David Lafko was chosen as treasurer. Marci Kramer will serve as secretary.

"Thank you very much for your support. I'm hoping we can move the district in a positive direction," Gosch said.

Usuka will serve as the Intermediate Unit 29 representative from the district. Board member John Granito will serve on the recreation commission board.

Marci Kramer will continue as the representative to the Eagle Foundation and Superintendent Robert Urzillo will also serve as administrative representative. Gherghel will be representative to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.

Starting in January, all board meetings will start at 7:15 p.m. The time change is a convenience for school board members.

The next school board meeting is 7 p.m. Dec. 12 in the high school auditorium, 1076 W. Market St.
