Woman to face
mischief charges
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - A 49-year-old borough woman faces criminal mischief charges after allegedly vandalizing and intentionally damaging a vehicle belonging to Glenda McCabe, 73, at 9 a.m. Tuesday just outside her residence at 268 Frieden Manor, Wayne Township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Barbara Ann Reusing intentionally drove her gray 2002 Toyota Rav 4 into the back of McCabes's red 2000 Volkswagen Vetta, poured powder detergent on the vehicle and then scraped it with a metal object.
Police said Reusing denied committing the crime.
Charges were filed with District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg.
Bar assault ends
with 1 man cited
GIRARDVILLE - A 36-year-old borough man was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct after allegedly assaulting a man and woman at 1:28 a.m. Wednesday at Hall's Nowhere Bar, 200 North Second St.
State police at Frackville said Craig V. Brennan was assaulting a female in the bar when John M. Shields, 42, of Girardville, intervened. Brennan punched Shields several times in the face and bit his left hand. Police said Brennan and the woman fled the scene in a vehicle, and Shields later went to Schuylkill Medical Center-East Jackson Street for his injuries.
Charges against Brennan will be filed with District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville.
None injured
in car rollover
MAHANOY CITY - A 25-year-old borough woman and two children escaped injury after the vehicle they were in struck a utility pole and rolled over at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday along Burma Road at the Interstate 81 overpass in Mahanoy Township.
State police at Frackville said Anisa Kane was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier north on Burma Road and lost control of the vehicle while following a left curve in the road. The vehicle then traveled across the southbound lane, struck a utility pole and rolled over before coming to a rest on its wheels.
Police said Kane and the two children, ages 3 and 4, were not injured while the vehicle sustained severe damage and had to be towed.
Police cited Kane for the accident and are continuing the investigation.
No injuries
in car, rig crash
MCADOO - A 21-year-old Mahanoy City woman was not injuried when her vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 81, near mile marker 139, in Kline Township.
State police at Frackville said Gabrielle Burke was driving a 1999 Saturn SL1 north on Interstate 81 and lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway and and struck the driver's side of a 2009 Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by Alex Dradaytsev, Quebec.
Police said the Saturn sustained severe damage while the rig sustained light damage. Neither driver was injured. Police cited Burke for the accident.
