SHENANDOAH - A Shenandoah man was jailed Sunday on charges that he threatened another man with a shotgun that afternoon.
Shane Reinoehl, 27, of 345 California Ave., was arraigned on charges of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua, and committed to Schuyl-kill County Prison unable to post $50,00 straight cash bail.
Patrolman Laurie Dudash said the incident occurred about 3 p.m. at a home at 213 W. Columbus St. where Reinoehl allegedly pointed a loaded shotgun at a man and fled after the victim fled inside the home.
Dudash said it was learned that Reinoehl went to the home to deliver money, but did not have the exact amount and left to get change.
Upon returning, Dudash said the man got into an argument with a woman, at which time the male victim came down from the attic and told Reinoehl to leave.
Reinoehl walked to his vehicle and got an Express Magnum 870 shotgun from the back seat. Dudash said Reinoehl put a round into the weapon and pointed it at the man's chest while he stood on the porch of the home. According to Dudash, Reinoehl threatened to shoot and kill the man.
Dudash said the man realized that at least one of his children was near his side, grabbed the child and ran inside.
Dudash said Reinoehl fled and his van was found near his West Mahanoy Township home with the shotgun in plain view in the back seat with five rounds on a sleeve on the butt of the weapon and three rounds next to the gun on the seat.
With the assistance of Frackville police, Dudash said Reinoehl was located inside the home and admitted to possessing the shotgun and being at the home where the threats took place.
Reinoehl will now have to answer to the charges before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah, police said.
