n Girardville: Rangers Hose Company, 6 E. Ogden St., will have a wing night from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 8. Wings are $8 per dozen, fries are $3 and fries with any wing sauce are $4. Flavors include hot, mild, honey mustard, house, ranch, spicy ranch, hot garlic, barbecue, garlic parmesan and teriyaki. n Minersville: The Minersville Area School District will hold student registration for the 2014-15 academic year as follows: 4K and kindergarten, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 10-14; first grade to 12th grade, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 18-21. Registration will be in the administration office. For 4K, students must be 4-years-old by Sept. 1 and for kindergarten, they must be 5-years-old by Sept. 1. For registration, parents/guardians will need the child's birth certificate or hospital record, immunization records and proof of school district residency. n Pottsville: A book signing with author Scott R. Thomas will be held at the Pottsville Free Public Library, 215 W. Market St., from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Thomas will be on hand to sell and sign copies of his book titled "A Young Man's Game: The Successes and Struggles of a Young Person Getting Involved in Politics." The books are $15 each. n Schuylkill Haven: A completion night for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Classroom Building computer lab at Penn State Schuylkill campus, 200 University Drive. Students and parents are invited to complete their FAFSA during the workshop. "Take advantage of this brief FAFSA completion session to get your 2014/15 aid started," campus officials said in a release. To register, call 570-385-6244 to register. This workshop is free and open to the public. n Tamaqua: The Tamaqua Board of Health recently reorganized during a meeting at Tamaqua Borough Hall, 320 E. Broad St. The board retained its officers for 2014. They include Randolph Gormley, president; James Gormley, vice president, and Shirley Becker, secretary. The board will meet at 10 a.m. to first Wednesday of the month in borough hall. Other board members include Dr. Joanne Calabrese and Earl Boettger.
