A vehicle belonging to Tamaqua homicide victim Angela Serfass Steigerwalt was recovered in North Carolina on Sunday after police had a standoff with an Allentown man.

According to the Kinston Free Press, Kinston police pulled over Steigerwalt's 2010 silver Buick LaCrosse on a report that it was stolen.

The Kinston Department of Public Safety was contacted by On-Star about a stolen 2010 silver Buick from Pennsylvania that was entering Kinston on U.S. 258 North at 11:06 a.m. Sunday and officers then conducted a vehicle stop on the 1400 block of the highway.

After a five-minute stand-off, the suspect, Anthony Darrell Heath, 24, of Allentown, was taken into custody without incident.

Linked to the Steigerwalt's death, Heath is being held in Lenoir County Jail with no bond.

According to a previous article in The Republican-Herald, the body of Syeigerwalt, 35, was discovered at 9:50 a.m. Saturday in a wooded area off of Flagstaff Road in Jim Thorpe by firefighters working to extinguish a brush fire.

Steigerwalt's uncle, Donald R. Serfass, Tamaqua, told The Republican-Herald on Sunday night that the last time she was seen was Friday afternoon when she left for her job at Kraft Foods near Fogelsville.

State police at Lehighton categorized the case as a "homicide investigation" in the public information release report it sent out to the media Sunday night.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop N major case team has taken over the case from the Jim Thorpe borough police.
