n Millersburg: The Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art will host its second annual Golf Classic on Aug. 1 at the Country Club of Harrisburg, 401 Fishing Creek Valley Road, Harrisburg. Golfers are welcome to register as individuals or gather friends for a foursome. The day will include golf, raffles, prizes, giveaways, food and other activities. The hole-in-one prize will be a new car courtesy of the Bobby Rahal Automotive Group, according to a center press release from Alexis Dow Campbell, director of creative programming. The tournament will feature a scramble format. Registration is $125 per golfer, $500 per foursome. Guest tickets are available for the cocktail and dinner reception. n Pottsville: A theater/acting workshop for children titled "Everything Oz!" will be held at the Sovereign Majestic Theater from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The one-day workshop, according to a release, will give students the opportunity to work on every area of musical theater performance - singing, acting and dancing - based on "The Wizard of Oz." n Pottsville: Community Volunteers in Action will host an informational seminar and meet-and-greet with Lori Michael, owner of Lori's Angels, to discuss medical and nonmedical home care services, insurance coverage and everything people need to know about what's available to help elderly or disabled relatives to be able to remain in their homes longer.
