Stephen J. Bayer

TAMAQUA - A Tamaqua man charged with assaulting a woman at a borough tavern on Feb. 23 had charges against him held for court during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer.

Brian S. Parrish, 42, of 539 E. Elm St., was arrested by Tamaqua police Patrolman Joseph Krebs and charged with one count each of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Bayer determined the commonwealth proved a prima facie case and ordered all three charges held to Schuylkill County Court.

Krebs charged Parrish with being at Freddy's Pub on Mauch Chunk Street, where he punched Jeanette Major in the face with a closed fist. The woman said Parrish was getting out of hand inside the bar and had been asked several times to leave but refused.

Krebs said that when Major confronted Parrish by the door, he assaulted her.

Candace E. Orfield, 29, of 155 Dietrich Ave., Hazleton - held for court: simple assault and harassment.

Stephen A. Duncan, 28, of 770 Seybert St., Hazleton - waived for court: DUI, DUI-highest rate and driving at an unsafe speed.

Allison E. Taran, 30, of 102 N. Second St., Hughesville - waived for court: DUI, DUI-highest rate and restrictions on alcoholic beverages.

Michael A. Mattox, 22, of 12 Cherry St., Shenandoah - waived for court: DUI, DUI-highest rate, driving without a license, driving a vehicle without an official inspection, driving an unregistered vehicle, failure to wear safety belts, failure to carry registration, displaying a plate on an improper vehicle, compliance with exhaust system requirements, driving at an unsafe speed and fraudulent, altered, counterfeit or forged title, registration or insurance.

Tammy L. Bartolett, 42, of 112 W. Miner St., Coaldale - withdrawn: bad checks.

Francis W. Chambers, 26, of 409 W. Broad St., Apt. 2, Tamaqua - held for court: criminal mischief.

Edward Kashmer, 49, of 217 Washington St., Tamaqua - withdrawn: access device unauthorized by issuer. Waived for court: retail theft.

Shawn P. Gondecki, 25, of 103 E. Main St., Box 46, Ringtown - waived for court: DUI, DUI-high rate and obedience to traffic control devices.

Kevin K. Kaufman, 22, of 124 Clay St., Tamaqua - waived for court: simple assault and harassment.

Jacob J. Kamant, 23, of 644 E. Broad St., Tamaqua - withdrawn: criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Jeremy J. Kamant, 34, of 158 Orwigsburg St., Tamaqua - withdrawn: criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Elizabeth J. Ostrowski, 44, of 539 E. Elm St., Tamaqua - waived for court: possession of drug paraphernalia.

Karol Franzyshen, 21, of 1548 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township - held for court: possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI-controlled substance, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, displaying a plate card on an improper vehicle, operation or permitting operation with unsafe equipment and driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked.

Eric Brennan, 36, of 13 Newport Drive, Hazleton - held for court: possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jordan Jihad Saied, 20, of 3469 Farview Drive, East Stroudsburg - waived for court: DUI-controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Cheryl A. Toth, 47, of Rear 22 N. Hancock St., McAdoo - waived for court: DUI-highest rate, DUI-controlled substance, improper signaling, duties at a stop sign and no rear lights.

Arcedo A. Valdez, 18, of 128 S. Church St., Hazleton - withdrawn: possession of a controlled substance. Waived for court: possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Vincent Morrissey, 21, of 307 W. Mountain Road, Allentown - waived for court: possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shawn L. McGuire, 44, of 130 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City - waived for court: DUI, period requiring lighted lamps and improper signaling.

Justin Oshman, 25, of Box 651, Conyngham - waived for court: DUI and no rear lights.

Jeffrey A. Frtich, 21, of 1021 S. Eighth St., Allentown - waived for court: possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

SHENANDOAH - A Shenandoah man charged with an assault at his home on June 21 waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker.

Jarelle Rashon Canyon, 25, of 423 W. Oak St., was arrested by Shenandoah police Patrolman Tyler Dissinger and charged with simple assault and harassment.

By waiving his right to a hearing, Canyon will now have to answer to both charges in Schuylkill County Court.

Dissinger charged Canyon assaulting his girlfriend, Tiffany Kovalusky, causing visible injuries to her head and face.

The woman said Canyon was out all night at a local bar and came home, began to yell at her and then hit her. Kovalusky also said Canyon told her if she came to bed in the upstairs of the home, he would throw her down the steps, Dissinger said.

Matthew M. Mabus, 22, of 44 E. Spruce St., Bethlehem - waived for court: DUI, no headlights, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, driving without a license and failure to keep right.

Amber L. Hall, 24, of 105 Hazle St., Box 191, Delano - waived for court: making repairs to or selling offensive weapons.

Robert J. Rhoades, 65, of 100 S. Main St., Apt. 312, Shenandoah - waived for court: DUI, DUI-highest rate, careless driving and disregard for single traffic lane.

Jeremy J. Colosimo, 26, of 159 Weston Place, Shenandoah - withdrawn: receiving stolen property and theft.

Anthony J. Luciano, 22, of 524 W. Coal St., Shenandoah - withdrawn: simple assault, receiving stolen property and theft.

Michael C. Basilotto, 27, of 22 W. Brandon St., Zion Grove - withdrawn: harassment. Waived for court: simple assault and harassment.

Mollie McGuire, 21, of 122 W. Birch St., Mahanoy City - held for court: possession of drug paraphernalia, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance.

Josita A. Steward, 57, of 72 Park Place Road, Mahanoy City - waived for court: DUI, DUI-highest rate, disregard for single traffic lane and failure to stop at a red signal.

Kyle J. Merenda, 19, of 57 Shady Lane, Barnesville - waived for court: possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Withdrawn: intimidation of a witness or victim, retaliation against a witness or victim and terroristic threats.

Alec Jackson, 19, of 73 Roosevelt Drive, Morea - withdrawn: possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance.

Sherman Mah, 32, of 431 E. Mahanoy Ave., Mahanoy City - withdrawn: bad checks.
