Police investigate
2-vehicle crash
CRESSONA - State police at Schuylkill Haven investigated a crash that occurred about 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Sillyman Street, north of Millers Alley.
Police said Phillip A. White, 26, of Wernersville, was driving a 1014 Chevrolet Cruz when he ran into the back of a 2008 Mercury Milan driven by Jill Voydik, 49, of Schuylkill Haven, who was stopped for traffic.
White will be cited for following too closely as a result of the crash, police said.

for harassment
ORWIGSBURG - A Tamaqua man was charged with harassment by state police at Schuylkill Haven after an incident that occurred about 5 p.m. Saturday at Renninger's Market in North Manheim Township.
Police said Michael Kemmerer, 26, will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg.
Police said Kemmerer was charged after he became involved in an argument with James Strokoz, 48, of Barnesville, during which he grabbed him by the throat.

in 2 incidents
HAMBURG - A borough man was arrested by state police at Hamburg and charged in connection with two incidents, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday.
Police said that Randy Lee Heckman, 43, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment after an domestic incident about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at 232 Forge Dam Road in Upper Bern Township, where he where he discharged multiple rounds from a .357 revolver at his wife, who had been driving away from the property in her vehicle.
On Saturday, police said Heckman received several traffic citations after an incident that occurred about 11:45 p.m. on Main Street in Sharletsville and Mount Road and Forge Dam Road in Upper Bern Township.
Police said the man will be charged with hit and run, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a license and trespass by motor vehicle after being identified as the man operating a snowmobile through Main Street that hit several vehicles before it became disabled in a yard.

NUREMBERG - A Nuremberg man was charged with harassment pursuant to domestic violence by state police at Frackville after an incident during the overnight hours on July 15 in this North Union Township village.
Police said Brian Corbett, 34, subjected a 30-year-old Nuremberg woman to physical contact and will now have to answer to the charges before Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville.

faces DUI charge
SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS - A Shenandoah man was charged with DUI after a traffic stop by state police at Frackville about 11:40 p.m. Saturday on Route 924 in West Mahanoy Township.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle driven by George Long, 58, and found the man to be under the influence.
A breath test administered at the Frackville barracks determined the man's alcohol level was above the legal limit and charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah.

Turkey Hill theft
SHENANDOAH - A man was charged by Shenandoah police with theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole money while working at Turkey Hill Minit Mart on South Main Street.
Police said Joshua Mathis, whose age and address were not available, was working at the store on April 13 and was missing $410.56 from his register. The manager - Pauline Schuller - said several other employees were using the same register and were only off by a few cents.
Then, on April 15, police said Mathis was missing $411.66 from his register and initially denied taking money. However, police said the man then said he would pay back $822 to the store.
Charges against Mathis were filed with Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah, police said.

SHENANDOAH - A Mahanoy City woman was arrested by Shenandoah police and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on May 11 in the borough.
Police said officers were called to Boyer's IGA about 11:55 p.m. for a burglar alarm and saw a woman wearing a baseball cap trying to hide behind a cardboard sign carrying something in her hand.
The woman was identified as Shawna McGuire, 825 E. Pine St. Police said McGuire dropped what was in her hands and proceeded to the rear of the store, fleeing through an emergency exit, but was taken into custody a short time later while walking toward Vine Street.
The woman was searched and police said they found $150.13 in items in bags near the front of the store.
Charges against McGuire were filed with Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah, police said.

for drunkeness
SHENANDOAH - A Philadelphia man was charged by borough police with public drunkenness after an incident at 11:05 p.m. June 27.
Police said Matthew Davalos, 2013 E. Stella St., will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah.
Police said officers were called to the One Stop Shop on North Main Street for a man possibly under the influence who running in the street without a shirt.
Davalos was located and appeared to be under the influence and admitted drinking but denied being under the influence, police said.
The man was cited for public drunkenness and taken to a home in the borough where he was staying, police said.
