FRACKVILLE — A borough man was jailed after being charged by Frackville police with assault about 4 p.m. Friday at his home.

Police said Justin G. Sanders, 27, of 28 N. Fourth St., was charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and prohibited offensive weapons, all misdemeanor offenses, as well as a summary charge of harassment.

He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post $15,000 straight cash bail.

Police said officers were called to the home for a report of a man, later identified as Sanders, assaulting a woman and then threatening to assault people with a pipe in a sock.

Officers were told Sanders was on the second floor of the home with the pipe and could possibly have a knife.

At the scene, police said officers found the woman with visible injuries to her right arm and her right cheek bone under her eye.

When officers went upstairs, they found Sanders trying to exit the home through a window and ordered him to stop, police said.

Sanders came back into the house and was searched. A pipe in a sock was found on the second floor, police said.

When in custody, Sanders said he and the woman had been arguing and that she struck him and he struck her back, police said.

The woman said the verbal argument turned physical, with him biting her on both sides of the head and right arm and then punching and kicking her several times in the legs and back, police said.

At some point, police said, Sanders pulled some of the woman’s hair out and ripped her clothing.

Sanders then threatened the woman’s brother with a knife and also beat both the woman and her brother with a pipe in a sock, police said.
