FRACKVILLE - A 32-year-old Dalmatia man charged with fleeing from police after being handcuffed on May 3 waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale.
Brian G. Heffner, 2547 Route 147, was arrested by Frackville police Patrolman Christopher Hand and charged with escape, loitering and prowling at night, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and defiant trespass.
By waiving his right to a hearing, Heffner will now have to answer to all five charges against him in Schuylkill County Court.
Hand said officers were assisting a state constable in picking up Heffner on outstanding warrants from Northumberland County around 10 p.m. when the man ran from a house on West Morris Street and was taken into custody.
When the constable was placing Heffner in his car, the man fled through several yards before getting away from authorities, Hand said. The man was later found in a swamp area if Walnick Manor in Butler Township and taken into custody without incident, Hand said.

Krista M. Dougherty, 30, of 335 W. Sixth St., Mount Carmel - dismissed: simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment and criminal mischief.
Francis S. Gaffney, 41, of 28 Low Road, Ashland - withdrawn: turning movements and required signals, exceeding the speed limit and failure to use safety belts. Waived for court: DUI, DUI-highest rate and disregard for single traffic lane.
Charles J. Wilson, 30, of 1310 Centre St., Ashland - withdrawn: burglary and criminal trespass. Waived for court: loitering and prowling at night.
