Pageant contestant

Katrina McNulty, 5, daughter of Ashley Firestone, Shenandoah, was chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Pennsylvania Pageant that will be held Aug. 9 at Hilton Harrisburg & Towers.

Katrina will participate in the National American Miss Princess age division. The pageant winner will go on to compete in the national pageant in California.

Katrina's activities include Brownie Girl Scouts and pageants, and she enjoys singing, dancing, fishing and cheerleading. Her sponsors at this time include her Nanny, Sara Kohr, Jimmy O's Sports Bar, and her aunt, Taylor Firestone.

25 years on job

Schuylkill Veterinary Hospital, Pottsville, honored Jacqueline Clay for 25 years of employment.

Known for her compassion for pets and attention to detail, she completed courses in nutrition, urinalysis, animal behavior and preparedness.

Clay is a daughter of Margaret Thompson Petrushonis and the late Wilbur John Petrushonis and a graduate of Minersville Area High School. The mother of William Clay and Stephanie White, she has three grandchildren and lives in Minersville with her partner, Susan Duffy, and their pets.

Residency done

Joseph Bedway Jr. completed his five-year general surgery residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, Fla.

He is a 2000 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, a 2004 graduate of Muhlenberg College, Allentown, and a 2008 graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia.

Bedway will be affiliated with a surgery practice in the Los Angeles area. He is a son of Barbara and Jo-seph Bedway Sr., Stuart, Fla., and a grandson of the late John and Mary Bedway, and the late William and Sophie Solan, all formerly of Pottsville.
