Woman injured
in Rt. 209 crash
PORT CARBON - A Cressona woman was injured when the car she was driving crashed on Route 209, east of Austin Drive, in Norwegian Township, police said.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Ellen P. Schwartz, 19, was eastbound on Route 209 leaving Port Carbon when her 2005 Chevrolet Aveo went into a left curve and onto a stone parking area off the eastbound lane, causing her to lose control. Police said the car went back onto the roadway, across the westbound lane and struck a utility pole off the westbound lane and spun clockwise, coming to rest facing east in the westbound lane.
Police said Schwartz suffered an injury and was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street by Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven EMS for treatment and faces a citation as a result of the crash.

driven into door
HAMBURG - Someone drove a company truck into the door of a pole barn at the business' site sometime Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning in Windsor Township, Berks County, police said.
State police at Hamburg said the person got into a 1995 Freightliner truck owned by Hilltop Service Inc., 16403 Pottsville Pike, started it and drove it into the pole barn door, causing $200 damage to the truck's hood and grill and about $300 damage to the pole barn door.

taken from home
Someone took a digital camera and two wedding bands from a Pottsville area woman's home in Norwegian Township between 5:30 and 11:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said the person or persons entered the residence of Christine Deegan, 523 Maple St., and took a black Nikon Coolpix P510 GPS digital camera with a black camera case and two gold wedding bands from the kitchen table.
